Songs like Face Down, Gasping For Air, Low Life, Scars Of The Suffering & Symbols Of Hate remind me a lot of classic Slayer, but with evil New York Death Metal style breakdowns, and grotesque vocals courtesy of Dave Matrise. Probably the best way to describe their sound is if you mix Slayer & Dying Fetus with a hardcore frontman that has a cold. With four releases in their pocket, Chicago-based Jungle Rot is a pummeling force in the metal community. With Fueled By Hate, they have proven that their relenting style of in-your-face death metal is just as brutal and devastating as their "blast beats" competitors. I highly recommend Fueled By Hate for fans of Slayer, Deathcore and even Hardcore, as their sound is one that which brings the many categories of extreme music fans together under one roof. --Grim Gaijin 11.12.04 ALL REVIEWS FOR: JUNGLE ROT
