0 Terrible - Waste of your life and time.

Note: Reviews are graded from 0-5, anything higher or not showing is from our old style. Scores, however, do not reveal the important features. The written review that accompanies the ratings is the best source of information regarding the music on our site. Reviewing is opinionated, not a qualitative science, so scores are personal to the reviewer and could reflect anything from being technically brilliant to gloriously cheesy fun.

Demos and independent releases get some slack since the bands are often spent broke supporting themselves and trying to improve. Major releases usually have big financial backing, so they may be judged by a heavier hand. All scores can be eventually adjusted up or down by comparison of subsequent releases by the same band. We attempt to keep biases out of reviews and be advocates of the consumer without the undo influence of any band, label, management, promoter, etc.

The best way to determine how much you may like certain music is to listen to it yourself.

Iron Savior know their audience and understand the needs and wants of their fanbase. The power metal enthusiasts who have supported the band for ten years love this German act and wish nothing more than album after album of crispy polished metal-head cuts that bridge the gap between leatherneck Accept rock and Helloween speed-rush. This new record, "Megatropolis", does just that, providing plenty of well stirred mead for a sit-down buffet of Tuetonic heavy metal. Piet Sielck handles guitars, vocals, and production AGAIN and really doesn't stray away from albums like "Battering Ram" and "Condition Red". The album roars with fast songs, groove-walloped numbers, and the mid-tempo thump that is prevalent with so many of these German loyalists. This is the act's first release for up-and-coming label Dockyard1 after seeing their entire discography handled in some fashion or another by Noise/Sanctuary.

The Bottom Line - Don't be surprised to find the band still doing the same 'ole thing record after record. Cheers to a band that sticks to their guns...but at some point please find some diversity. Cough--Hammerfall--Cough Cough--Iced Earth--Cough Cough--Paragon.
