8/3/2004 - Review by: Frank Hill
Subdued and listenable
There isn't much metal I can write about Acrid, but with listed influences of Burzum and Ulver, I decided to give 'Caveman' a short review. 'Caveman' is the first CD of instrumental music from the altered state of keyboardist Eoin Callery from the Irish band Ego Sum Papa. The music is atmospheric and ethereal; quite like the soundtrack to a 1970's space film. The song titles really told me nothing of what to expect. Acrid's highly improvised music is subdued and listenable, but for me it's mostly in a background sense. I suppose all metalheads can give their ears a rest now and then.
Bottom Line: Acrid is relaxing, instrumental music.
