Note: Reviews are graded from 0-5, anything higher or not showing is from our old style. Scores, however, do not reveal the important features. The written review that accompanies the ratings is the best source of information regarding the music on our site. Reviewing is opinionated, not a qualitative science, so scores are personal to the reviewer and could reflect anything from being technically brilliant to gloriously cheesy fun.

Demos and independent releases get some slack since the bands are often spent broke supporting themselves and trying to improve. Major releases usually have big financial backing, so they may be judged by a heavier hand. All scores can be eventually adjusted up or down by comparison of subsequent releases by the same band. We attempt to keep biases out of reviews and be advocates of the consumer without the undo influence of any band, label, management, promoter, etc.

The best way to determine how much you may like certain music is to listen to it yourself.

Ed Gein: It's a shame That a Family can be torn apart by something as simple as a pack of wild dogs.....

After listening to the Demo, which I got my hands on probably about 7 or 8 months ago, I was really looking foward to hearing a full length. Well now its here, and I can say that the the demo material is a bit more crunchy but the Album is much faster. Once again with many bands that I listen to the song titles are hilarious. Odd enough I think almost ever sample on this cd is from Donnie Darko. I don't have a problem with that, just wish they had more samples from other movies. I think the most memorable song on the cd has to be "The Marlboro man is a douche bag". its very crunchy and I like it. Rich and creamy, just the way I like it. I suppose if if i had to compare the band or try to describe them i would say a little bit of grindcore mixed with metalcore.

The vocals are hardcore-ish, but I think that the next one needs to get crunchy, Ed Gein does well to keep things on the crunchy and heavy side.
