3.5 Good - Most of the record is good, but there may be some filler.

Demos and independent releases get some slack since the bands are often spent broke supporting themselves and trying to improve. Major releases usually have big financial backing, so they may be judged by a heavier hand. All scores can be eventually adjusted up or down by comparison of subsequent releases by the same band. We attempt to keep biases out of reviews and be advocates of the consumer without the undo influence of any band, label, management, promoter, etc.

Ambitious post-metal
This release by Abraham could end up turning into a mini novella of a review if I were to go that far. There's just so much going on here but I'm going to try to sum up things as best I can.

The album is a four part concept of life disappearing on our little planet. It's stark, bleak, crushing and pretty much any other adjective you could use to describe the end time. The music is a variety of ambient, post-metal, sludge, and a whole slew of genres. The production is solid and the instrumentation is spot on. Vocals are a good mixture of clean and a bit raw with growls, chants and everything but the kitchen sink.

To really appreciate what this album has to offer, you are going to have to take some serious time to sit with this one and soak it all in. But it's worth the effort if you have the time.

Recommended for fans of: Cult of Luna, The Ocean
