Pantheon-I is an interesting band. At times they remind me of old school Emperor and Dissection; other times they sound like a new band. Bright spots combine melancholy, atmospherics and brutality well. On the poorer quality songs the production really brings out issues with the music and song material. There is some definite promise if they can things up to a better sounding unit. I would have to seriously consider my options if I were to throw some cheese down for another release in the future. For the true black metal fan out there, you might want to give this a spin but I wouldn't recommend dropping a whole lot on this one.
