There are a half dozen Agressor acts running rampant on the scene, this one being of the French variety. The band originated in 1986 and captured a label deal from powerhouse Noise Records. Earlier in their career the focus was speed and thrash, now it is death. 'Medieval Rites' is rife with the systematic ingredients that make these acts extremely repetitive. The only compelling aspect of this record is the inclusion of some acoustic riffs, Middle-Eastern instruments and horns that make up no less than four of the thirteen tracks presented. A butchered cover of King Diamond's 'Welcome Home' is included.
