Eighteen Wheels Burning
Tweak'd Out, Strung Up and Redlined
5/5/2009 - Review by: Kim Thore
Some things from Staten Island, NY are memorable: the ferry, great views of Manhattan and David Johansen. The rock/metal/jam band, Eighteen Wheels Burning, however is ...well not so much.
One can appreciate an amalgam of musical styles but some things are not meant to be put together and "Tweak'd Out, Strung Up and Redlined" demonstrates this for ten tracks. Redlined it is, as the musical tachometer is so far to the right that all the listener gets is a piercing sound and rhythmic rpms. Granted, Eighteen Wheels Burning deserves points for energy but the lack of focus and slipshod arrangements that comes with it, leaves one at a loss.
If this is where the stoner rock scene is headed, someone needs to turn this rig around.
