Demos and independent releases get some slack since the bands are often spent broke supporting themselves and trying to improve. Well, this is an odd CD to describe. This quartet from Kingston, Ontario has quite the sound going for them with a mixture of NWOBHM, death, and hardcore.

Like most of their Canadian brethren, they are devastingly technical in their musicianship. This album is full of twin guitars reminiscent of classic Maiden and vocals that are similar to Hatebreed and any handful of death metal bands. The drums are a nice filler and at times are skull rattling. Production is crisp and full, allowing the listener to hear everything blended together without one element overtaking another.

Overall, I was very impressed with the CD. My initial complaint was the vocals as they didn't seem to fit with the music, but the more I listened to this album, the more I realized that they went with it very well. Definitely check this out if you like your metal splashed with melody and technical guitar work.
