Note: Reviews are graded from 0-5, anything higher or not showing is from our old style. Scores, however, do not reveal the important features. The written review that accompanies the ratings is the best source of information regarding the music on our site. Reviewing is opinionated, not a qualitative science, so scores are personal to the reviewer and could reflect anything from being technically brilliant to gloriously cheesy fun.

Demos and independent releases get some slack since the bands are often spent broke supporting themselves and trying to improve. Major releases usually have big financial backing, so they may be judged by a heavier hand. All scores can be eventually adjusted up or down by comparison of subsequent releases by the same band. We attempt to keep biases out of reviews and be advocates of the consumer without the undo influence of any band, label, management, promoter, etc.

The best way to determine how much you may like certain music is to listen to it yourself.

Man it is so risky nowadays to pick up something that magazines recommend because you never know what you are gonna get. You don't know if it will be utter crap or the greatest risk you've taken. In the case of Into Eternity it was a risk well taken. These guys have got to have the coolest mix of styles that I have heard. And it meshes so well together also. This Canadian six piece can absolutely crush you as evident by the song "Selling God" or can slow it up a bit like in "Shallow". Anyone who likes any type of metal, whether it be power/death/prog/black/thrash, will definitely want to pick this CD up. The vocals are a mixture of clean/death style and flow smoothly with the songs. The musicianship on this album is quite superb as well. Each band member knows how to play their instrument and play it well. Fans of old Iron Maiden and Dream Theatre will definitely recognize some of the musical scales and styles that are present on this album. These guys are getting ready to go on tour with Hate Eternal, Dying Fetus and Kataklysm. I am looking forward to seeing what they sound like live. These guys have my vote for best new Metal act of 2002. This is definitely a CD worth checking out.
