Death Courier's brand of death metal featured on their latest release, 'Necrotic Verses', is pretty straight forward and a bit formulaic. Listening to the album from start to finish, it can be a little difficult to tell where one song ends and the next begins. That said, the album is still an enjoyable listen. The songs have plenty of crunch and chug to them, interspersed with a little bit of melody here and there. The only other drawback I found with the album is the overall mix. The guitars rule the mix through and through, I could hear them easily in every song with good clarity. The drums sounded pretty muted, almost as if they were recorded in a padded room somewhat. The vocals though were far too low in the mix, making it hard to figure out what was being sung in nearly every track. But if you want a quick-listening death metal experience where what you hear is what you get, 'Necrotic Verses' will be worth a listen for you.
