Demos and independent releases get some slack since the bands are often spent broke supporting themselves and trying to improve. Major releases usually have big financial backing, so they may be judged by a heavier hand. All scores can be eventually adjusted up or down by comparison of subsequent releases by the same band. We attempt to keep biases out of reviews and be advocates of the consumer without the undo influence of any band, label, management, promoter, etc.

Dungeon Synth meets Black Metal in this Medieval vampyric showdown
Erythrite Throne are on to something with their mashup of black metal, dungeon synth and cinematic movie score with a hint of metalcore (just in the drum patterns). The result is an emotional and sulky journey to a malevolent past full of vampires and forsaken kingdoms.

On their latest effort titled, 'Thirst For Vampyric Purity', they present a passionate display of vengeful blood-sucking creatures through hateful tunes and tasteful lyrics that are quite unique and addictive. With six songs clocking in at just under thirty minutes, this album is put together like a perfect soundtrack to a dark fantasy story That wasn't meant to have a happy ending. Standout tracks include, "Suffer For Thy Serpent", "Queen Of Vampyric Essence", and "Rebirth Of The Vampire King". The lo-fi production adds to the mystique of the story and the excellent, but grim, album cover is actually a cassette cover inlay.

'Thirst For Vampyric Purity' is a superb album from an up-and-coming band that should get some recognition for the hard work and effort they are putting in to their offerings. Just since September of last year, they’ve amassed quite a collection of material on their Bandcamp page and it’s all worth checking out.
