Demos and independent releases get some slack since the bands are often spent broke supporting themselves and trying to improve. Major releases usually have big financial backing, so they may be judged by a heavier hand. All scores can be eventually adjusted up or down by comparison of subsequent releases by the same band. We attempt to keep biases out of reviews and be advocates of the consumer without the undo influence of any band, label, management, promoter, etc.

Some of the heaviest punk-infused grindcore ever recorded
First the good--you can always count on Nails to deliver some of the heaviest punk-infused grindcore ever recorded. Each song is short, too the point, and deliver some of the sickest metal that will rattle your brain. You Will Never Be One Of Us continues the onslaught of their first two albums but with an even greater ferociousness. Now the bad--the average length of a Nails album is right around 18 minutes long, about the same length as 1 YOB song. This wouldn't be so bad, but since they are considered full-length albums, they come with full-length price. Overall, excellent grindcore album with sick and gritty production by Kurt Ballou.
