The best album in over 20 years for these Bay-Area titans
11th record from Testament and boys it's a monster. I'm not sure why Chuck Billy just doesn't produce full-time. The production here is second best only to Metallica for 2016 – a far more expensive job. 'Brotherhood of the Snake' is everything we loved about 90's Testament. Ample volume is given to wicked cuts that are energetic and rife with electricity and originality. Not sure I've heard these riffs before, a statement if there ever was one considering the times we are living. Metal for metal fans and it's steeped with Biblical imagery. A top-four record for 2017 for this guy.
