Imagine for a minute a marriage between the traditional vocals of Warrel Dane [Nevermore] and Chris Jericho [Fozzy] and add some pure, powerful heavy metal that still falls under the progressive umbrella.
What you have is Zero Hour. 2005 marked the release of their fourth release, and first after a 4 year hiatus.
Let's take a journey into the depths of your mind. Their is a six second intro that will help start the journey. Now it is time to go through the stages of your mind--pain, torment, destiny, sorrow, fear, confusion, and by the end of the journey, absolution. The exit is brought about by the same noise that we started the journey with. A mind is very complex and Zero Hour "A Fragile Mind" have mastered what many professional head doctors have been trying for centuries to prefect. The head trip is not the only thing to make this album praise worthy. It's heaviness as well as pure talent stand out here. Four years was well worth the wait. Zero Hour have added a rare complexity to their music. Adding a low and sinister vocal and well placed acoustic bridges only improved the band that you may have heard in the past. As with all progressive metal the use of keyboards is predominate, however, no instrument goes unheard as a force from time to time. "A Fragile Mind" has something for everyone, and well worth the buy.
