Now, this is what I would hand somebody if they wanted some pure heavy metal! Newly signed by Roadrunner Records, Three Inches of Blood is fast, aggressive and unrepentent in the 11 tracks on Battlecry will scare your parents like in the old days.
With better guitar work than the EP, These guys just rage through the tracks with the sound of old Overkill, the cheesiness and speed of Grim Reaper and the fury of Manowar on steroids. Their sound took me back to '86-'87 when bands were cranking up the speed to new levels.
There's an interesting dual set of vocals--one high-pitched regular, one high-pitched screaming--that adds a great effect to the vocal sound overall. Throw in some gang choruses with the fierce galloping guitars and the result is a potent mix of crazy molten metal.
Bottom Line: Great ferocious, shred your face off metal.
Best Tracks: Ride Darkhorse, Ride / Destroy The Orcs / Curse Of The Lighthouse Keeper
