Seamless blend of Progressive Metal, Art Rock, and Metalcore
COMMENTS:
Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, The Stranger fuse together progressive metal, 70's style progressive art rock, and a touch of metalcore on their impressive self-titled debut album. Clocking in at just over 1 hour, the songs range from heavy, progressive moments such as "Quantum Entanglement" and "Solomon's Son" to acoustic spacey anthems such as "Song For Dad", "Patterns", and "Storm". My favorite track on the album, "Divine Intervention" starts off with excellent harmonized vocals and suddenly kicks in to a Symphony X influenced riff. Every song is different but the superb vocals and instrumentation bring them all together seamlessly.
