Have you ever come across a CD that made a huge impact on you just seconds or minutes into the first song? They don't come around that often, but when they do, they are the ones that you continuously go back and listen to without ever growing tired of it. Throneum's Decade of Necrostuprumical Madness had that impact on me. I guess it must have been the mood that I was in at the time because before the first song was halfway over, I was hooked. Throneum mixes all of the greatest elements of Thrash Metal, noise core, death metal, and D-beat punk, and throws it all together in a huge wall of sound that is immensely brutal and equally insane.
Whether the song is a down-temp song like "Molested" or full of blast beats like "Deceased", their unique sound keeps things interesting and also keeps you in a destructive mood throughout the whole disk. Madness Destroys starts off with a D-beat intro, much like old SkitSystem, then turn things up into a whirlwind of blast beats and sick riffs. The vocals are great too - mixing the styles of thrash metal, death metal and black metal. Of the 23 songs, only 4 make it over the 3 minute mark. This keeps all the songs simple and to the point. Don't expect any technicality on these songs and don’t expect any fillers either. Just expect total mayhem and destruction in the veins of Righteous Pigs or classic Napalm Death. There are a handful of cover songs on here as well that honor metal legends such as Sarcofago, Tankard, Anthrax, Incantation, Autopsy, and Necrovore. Don't expect straight covers though, as Throneum put their own mark of each song to make them unique.
All in all, this is a great metal album for fans of all metal genres. The production is terrible and the guitars get a little fuzzy at times, but those are just some of the things that make a true metal album, and Throneum is METAL in its purest form.
